Marinetti's Manifesto On this day in 1909 the Italian poet F. T. Marinetti published "The Founding and Manifesto of Futurism" in the Paris newspaper, Le Figaro. This is regarded as the birth of the Futurist movement, which in radical or watered-down ways had such influence on modern art and literature, despite itself: "When we are forty, other younger and stronger men will probably throw us in the wastebasket like useless manuscripts -- we want it to happen!"
Selected Poems and Related Prose by F. T. Marinetti, Luce Marinetti (Editor), Elizabeth R. Napier (Translator), Barbara R. Studholme (Translator) anthology, poetry, essays
