Gabriel Garcia Marquez - LIFE STORIES

3/6/1928     Magical Marquez
On this day in 1928 Gabriel Garcia Marquez was born. Living to Tell the Tale, his 2002 memoir, is prefaced by Marquez's belief that "Life is not what one lived, but what one remembers and how one remembers it in order to recount it." He proceeds to describe a journey to his childhood home, one which opened the floodgates of memory and turned him into a writer.
